In December of 2010 I had another opportunity to help Florida Tourism in the wake of the Gulf oil spill, by photographing the ‘Visit Florida’ campaign.
We started this incredible project up in Panama City Beach, where temperatures dropped to a very chilly 17 degrees fahrenheit. As you can imagine everyone was bundled up and we all looked like we were going skiing in the Alps rather than going to the warm sunny beaches of Florida. Our models deserve special mention for their bravery in the face of plunging temperatures as they were the ones to run around in just their swimming suits, stopping to warm up every 5-10 minutes in front of 2 jet heaters we brought down to the beach. Regardless of the temperature we captured the essence and beauty of these beaches and the dining experience that are associated with Florida.
A special thanks to 'Pineapple Willy's' in Panama City Beach for letting us shoot at their location.

The rest of the project was produced down in Miami where the temperatures were warmer and everyone seemed more comfortable. On our first day in Miami we had the honor to shoot at the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. The beauty of this property is breath taking as you can see in the photographs we shot. The beaches of South Beach and South Point Park are just as beautiful and our photos, I think, capture the flavor of the Sunshine State.
Special thanks to the Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne for their beautiful location.
